The walking tour will cover two significant regeneration projects developed on the Leamouth Peninsula, London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Following the tour, drinks will be provided at ‘The Grocer’, Hope Street.

The walking tour will be led by Ballymore and Rolfe Judd Planning, including;

· John Turner, Director of Town Planning for Ballymore

· Sarah Morley, Development Manager for Goodluck Hope

· Laura Corr, Senior Development Manager for London City Island

Previously a Pura Foods manufacturing plant, ‘London City Island’, designed by Glenn Howells Architects, forms a vibrant new community with 1,706 new homes. The development provides a rich mix of business, retail, leisure and community uses and will be the new home of the English National Ballet and the London Film School. The scheme has won a number of awards, including ‘Development of the Year’ in the RESI Awards 2017 and the ‘Best New Place to Live’ within the London Planning Awards 2017.

‘Goodluck Hope’ forms a high density mixed-use development occupying a prominent river Thames frontage, designed by Allies and Morrison Architects. The scheme comprises 804 new residential units in warehouse-style blocks reflecting the heritage of the site. The development will provide a series of commercial spaces; including the new home of The Wharf Brewing Company and substantial leisure facilities for residents. The development also includes a series of high quality open spaces, including a new public square situated around a Grade II Listed dry dock, which recently won the New London Award for ‘Best Unbuilt Public Space 2018’.
