International Women’s Day (8 March) is an opportunity to recognise the incredible achievements of women all around the world, whilst calling for greater equality. This year, Women in Planning, Real Estate Women, Women in Sustainable Construction & Property, and Urbanistas have joined forces for the very first time to celebrate the successes, and kick start a fresh discussion for women who work in the built environment sector.
This year, International Women’s Day theme is Make it Happen in aid of encouraging effective action for advancing and recognising women. Tapping into this theme, we have arranged a panel of inspiring women speakers who will share their experiences of how they made it happen.
The panel will include:
- Liane Hartley, Founder of Urbanistas and Mend
Chairing the event.
- Natalie Bayflied, Bayfield Training
Presenting on her journey to making a successful business.
- Neena Thakkar, Pollard Thomas Edwards
Presenting on creating a gender balanced architectural firm.
- Liz Loughran, Women in Sustainable Construction & Property and Director of Line Planning
Presenting on inter-professional aspects of the organisation and sustainability show casing and how WSCP are making it happen.
- Victoria Thornton, OBE, Founder of Open City
Presenting on founding Open House Weekend and Open City.
With such a remarkable panel and stimulating theme, the event is sure to spark fresh debate, raise new questions, engage and inspire women of all ages and experience levels across the built environment sector. Please do join us as we #makeithappen.
